Although cold, the weather was otherwise kind when 20 or so brave souls took to the streets of Plumstead to solve the fiendish clues that Karen had devised to take the participants on the route of the Art Plumstead Easter Treasure Hunt. In teams of 1 – 4, we navigated our way from O’Dowd’s pub on Plumstead High Street, round the highways and byways of Plumstead to The Old Mill, and journey’s end.
There, all participants received their very own stash of mini chocolate eggs (Lidl’s finest!), in a small bag emblazoned with the newly designed AP logo. The questions were well pitched in terms of difficulty, neither so difficult as to be discouraging, nor incredibly easy; a sheet of picture clues in random order added an incentive for everyone to keep their eyes open as they negotiated their way along the prescribed route.
The Bond Team, who won the competition by completing the most correct answers in the allotted time, were presented with their commemorative certificate and chocolate Easter Bunny. Anyone who dallied too long at the pubs en route were penalised for their lateness by having points deducted! Their only solace was to drown their sorrows at the bar.
